Alicia Hayes is an award-winning writer, director, producer, editor, visual artist, and the founder and creator of Miss Liberty America™. A lifelong autodidact, her creative career has spanned broadcasting, voice-over, acting, music, photography, painting, design, beauty, and filmmaking.

 

Her career began in radio, where she worked in major markets including Los Angeles, Chicago, and Dallas. She later built a successful career in the entertainment industry before expanding into film production, writing, directing, producing, editing, and visual media.

In 2009, Hayes conceived Miss Liberty America after becoming increasingly concerned by the decline of constitutional literacy in America and by the pressure women in traditional pageant systems could sometimes feel to conform their personal views in order to remain competitive.

Hayes envisioned a different kind of national competition—one grounded in knowledge of the U.S. Constitution and other founding documents of the United States, while also honoring intelligence, elegance, poise, kindness, generosity, independent thought, and the way a woman presents herself to the world.

Miss Liberty America recognizes and honors individual exceptionalism—the qualities of character,

intellect, and spirit that make each woman a unique delegate.

The concept first attracted national media attention in 2010. Although circumstances delayed its original launch, Hayes never abandoned the vision. Today, she is bringing Miss Liberty America forward as a modern national competition with its own identity, traditions, standards, and legacy.

Beyond Miss Liberty America, Hayes has built an extensive body of creative work. Her paintings have been exhibited in Las Vegas and created for prominent public figures. Through her production company, VERO 8 PICTURES, she has produced award-winning film and media work, including two Telly Award-winning editing projects, with films distributed on Amazon Prime, DIRECTV, and Sofy TV.

For Hayes, Miss Liberty America is the culmination of decades spent across entertainment, media, art, design, and filmmaking—and the realization of a vision built around liberty, individuality, knowledge, and the freedom to dream boldly.
